The Gym Starter - Empowering Your Fitness Journey

I used to feel really flumpy...

Flumpy

Floppy

Extremely jelly like.

And this wasn't in my body.  It was in my mind.

Last night I got into a lovely conversation with a new client of mine...for arguments sake lets call her Laura.  Because thats her name.

We were talking about how energised she felt about her fitness path...its new and shes full of energy to keep making changes...which is rather ace.  I gave her the warning chat....that the energy will die away and it wont always feel like this....

But this Phase is mightily important for her to develop habits and mental toughness and to start realising she can do things differently in times of low energy.

Those moments when life takes over.

And we go tchatting about why I became TheGymStarter.

Believe it or not...

Its not because I am fitness freak.  Its not becuase I have ripped muscles and want to look like Arnie...and think I can tell others how to acheive this.

A big fear of mine when I started was how will I be respected as a trainer when I don't look like a "trainer" <<<< then I realised the only people who would think that about me are so closed minded I wouldn't want to work with them anyway.

#screwyou

The biggest driving force behind why I became a trainer was simply...

I needed to learn something.

I was nearly turning 30...and hadn't learnt anything new in a long time.  When I was at Drama School I loved developing myself and learning all about new playwrights, the theory of theatre and acting and just challenging myself every day to make myself better.

When I left Drama School all of this stopped.

I sat in an office...just wasting away.

And I didn't like it.

So I picked a subject that would challenege me.  Force me to develop.  I remember telling my Boss in my job what I wanted to do...and i said...

"I just want to downlaod some new information"

Thats it.

I didn't want my brain to go to waste.

Back to Laura.  She felt exactly the same.  She has had two sessions with me and has started to learn things new about herself, the way her body works in this world, and how to develop it to get to where she wants to be.

She is educating herself.

The fitness kinda comes second.

You won't get many trainers telling you that...believe me.

Learning somethng new is wonderfully rewarding for you.

As is Fitness.

If you can combine the two...

It is the pure definition of a #winwin.
